September Updates


Week 1 to 2 (Sept 9 to 13):

  • Bauhaus Lecture
    • Gained an understanding of the Bauhaus movement through Emma Westecott’s in-class lecture and external research via online sources
    • Participated in the discussion about Bauhaus and shared our findings and what each member found interesting 
  • Generate Ideas, Inspiration, & Mood board
    • Using the Mural, supported the ideation workshop where each member shared their ideas, and ideas which essentially became a mood board

Week 3 to 4 (Sept 14 to Sept 31):

  • Finalization of idea
    • Fortunate to have multiple ideas, the group heard everyone's ideas, collaborated to grow them further and analyzed the technical limitations. This led to the finalization of an idea. 
    • The group ended prepared a slideshow and presenting the idea which was followed by feedback from instructions and fellow peers.

  • Follow up on the presentation 
    • Adjusted the scope to make the idea more achievable 
    • Made the idea more open and absorbable for the audience to experience 
    • Prepared for experimentation of the project idea

  • Project timeline planning
    • Vocalized the expectations for each member such as working hours, communication, project management methods, etc
    • Determined universal internal and external tools to use for modelling, coding, shader, user interface, documentation, etc
    • Figured out everyone’s strengths, weaknesses, and aspirations which provided a better finding of what roles each member can uphold
    • Prepared a work back schedule which helped organize the production environment and set achievable targets 
    • The group prepared a slideshow which documented our production environment details and presented it. This was followed by feedback from instructions and fellow peers. Based on the feedback, the plan was adjusted which highlighted the importance of user testing and network communication for multiplayer.
